There is a wonderful saying that comes to us from the Gyokko Ryu Kosshijutsu tradition we study. Bushigokoro wo motte totoshi no nasu. In English we translate this as, “The warriors heart is precious and essential.”
In one of Hatsumi-soke’s new books, Unarmed Fighting Techniques of the Samurai, there is an picture on page 49. The picture is of a handwritten Japanese document. This is the approximate translation.
